Important : Due to the high number of applications for the creative writorkshops, the department can not guarantee acceptance in the three workshops required for this program. The students may not explain the creative writing concentration until they have completed the third workshop in their selected genre.

Registration in every creative writing workshop is only by application. Before the quarter begins, professors offer handouts (in 149 chaplain and online), which provide the procedures and deadlines to submit types of writing. In general, the submission period is two to three weeks before the beginning of the quarter. You can apply for more than one workshop, but you must inform every teacher that you do this.

Professors Postlists of students accepted in the workshops in the English Main Office (149 Kaplan). The lists are usually published either on the first day of classes or on the first day of the planned workshop. Students who have been accepted to a workshop receive a PTE number on the first lesson day to sign up.

• English composition 3: English composition, rhetoric and language
  This is an introductory course concentrating on basic writing skills. It is managed by UCLA write programs in 146 chaplain. If you receive a score of 4 or 5 on one of the composition and literature or voice and composition AP tests or received 5-7 in the language-German-IB check, you will receive a credit for English composition 3 and 8 units in the direction of graduation .

  This course performs the students in literary analysis by introducing a closer reading and the written issue on selected literary works .

  The English 10 Series is a basis for your studies of English literature in UCLA. This years of series is a survey about great authors and genres, with emphasis on tools for literary analysis, such as close reading, arguments, historical and social context and critical writing. Students should attract the 10-series career at their career in the UCLA at an early stage.

Students who pursue the concentration must specialize in the poetry (English 136) or short story (English 137).The English M138 is a course with a variable genre and does not apply to the concentration.

• Registration in a creative writing course is only by request.

• No student can log in to more than a creative writing workshop per quarter.

• Not more than two workshops can be completed with the same instructor.
